Corona!! BAM!!!

Me and Sister Springer

This week was no normal week I tell you what! It was crazy!!! My head could not focus because of so much change! I know that the Lord has helped me adjust to the different life style here....apartments are not my favorite...but I am growing to love biking :D

Monday: Got to Corona around 4:30 and then I got a little settled in, dinner, then we road around and she had me meet a lot of people that I can't remember their names....haha oh well :D

Tuesday: We taught Less Actives and went to the old people home :) They are so cute! We only have 2 Investigators here....that will change with time!!! This day my body really hurt because I am not used to biking every where....yeah my butt was sore.... :D

Wednesday: We really did the same as Tuesday....still finding my way around....if they had numbers instead of street names that would help haha :D love Corona!

Thursday: We found a new investigator! She is 89 years old and is so sweet! She wants to be baptized and her grandson (that is a member) wants to baptize her! We love her like crazy!!! She reminds me a lot of my grandmothers :D Yes both of them!

Friday: Sister Springer was sick in the morning so I was able to straighten the kitchen :D IT FELT SO GOOD!!!! I miss having a clean house....It will be clean by the end of today!!!!

Saturday: It rained! I biked in the rain!! haha it was awesome! Finally it got too bad so we had to go inside so we went to a members home. Sister Young, she is older and lives alone. She loves us! She even has a fridge that she fills full of snacks just for us! So sweet!

Sunday: I met everyone in the ward, and man it was so easy to get names down! I went to Young Women because an investigator named Melonie that is 14 didn't want to go alone. So fun! I miss young women! We talked a lot about faith and how we need to trust in the lord! So true!

Monday: I have been cleaning and now trying to go shopping for food! and cleaning supplies!

I love the work that I am doing and I am so excited to work even more! Scripture of the week is Mormon 9: 8 BAM!!! I will finish the book of Mormon by Mothers day!!! Oh and fyi...I get to Skye home I keep forgetting to tell my family! I will find out a time soon enough! Love you all!

Corona! :D WHAT!!!

Okay so this week has been crazy! Yesterday was so hard!!!

Monday: P-day was great! We played volleyball and that day went by way to fast!

Tuesday: District Meeting. We talked about scripture power! it was amazing! The scriptures are so important! Why you might ask?? Because it is a guide to return to Heavenly Father and how to become like Christ! When we share a scripture the Spirit is always there! Unless we are talking to someone who is yelling at us tell us that we will go to hell...yeah haha that didn't happen this week haha :) We were able to teach a family of investigators and it went so well! I pray that they continue to meet with the missionaries.

Wednesday: Well I caught Sister Mathews' cold...but I didn't let that stop me! I slept a little and then took stuff before I went to sleep.

Thursday: I woke up okay, but we planned our week, then slept, then planned hahaa yeah I was down...it didnt help that all of our lessons fell through! But it was a good thing because I really needed rest!

Friday: Was the busiest day ever! BAM!! We had lessons back to back from 3 pm until 9 it was so awesome! We taught a recent convert that is struggling coming to church...I pray for her because she is so awesome! She knows that this is the True Church! We taught an investigator that is suppose to be baptized on the 30th of April. I hope that She is! and I hope I can come! Then we taught a family of 7 about how we can listen to the spirit. we played a game where we blind folded the kids and played a drum(the holy ghost) and they were suppose to follow it. It went great! the we taught a cute small family with a little girl that is 13 months old. such a great family! Hope I get to see them again soon! The we taught a member in our ward and man they are working so hard to get to the temple!!!

Saturday: TRANSFER CALLS!!! I am leaving San Jacinto for Corona!!!! WHAT!!! Our work was great we were able to go to a fireside where a descendant of Joseph and Emma Smith spoke. It was so amazing! She is a convert to the church and we learned so much from her! we also had a lesson with an Investigator which went well! We pray that they continue to progress.

Sunday: was so hard to say good bye....I cried so much...I just I can't even rap my mind around that both Sister Mathews and I are leaving.....my companion is going home and I am going to Corona and Elders are taking over our area....:p ew Elders!!!! Hopefully by the end of summer more missionaries will be coming to our mission!

Monday: Today I am leaving for Corona!!! I pray that All will be well!! I am so heart broken that I am leaving San Jacinto...but I know that Corona needs me!!!

Love the Lord! Lean on him! Scripture of the week is 3 Nephi 18!!
Love and Miss you ALL!!!

Just another week

So today we went and played volley ball and got our nails done(that is what our home share does fro a living). That is why this email is late. Not much happened because Sister Mathews got sick again....oh well......haha I learned a lot! I am almost done with the Book of Mormon!!! BAM!!!

Monday: Nothing really happened...haha :D

Tuesday: We had meetings in the morning....blah....blah....blah...haha all good stuff! It is about a new website we are going to use to help our ward help us :D it will be great! After lunch we went walking and talking around our area. Guess who we ran into!!!! MY FIRST BIBLE BASHER!!! :D haha it was hard to walk away and not explain to him what he was saying.....he was trying to tell us that we were from the devil and that we need to come to his church and be saved! haha :) I have never had the spirit leave the room/area we were in so fast before! It was crazy! as we were walking away he was just yelling at us saying we were following the false church....We just have to pray for him and continue onward!

Wednesday: 1st day of Sister Mathews not feeling well. She rested and I read.....and read....and read.....and then went to an appointment....then our Book of Mormon class that we are teaching :D great fun!!!

Thursday: 2nd of Sister Mathews not feeling well....and I needed to run! So I ran around the kitchen :D yes i did! I did it and now this week when we run I wont pass out :D

Friday: 3rd day of Sister Mathews not feeling well :( it was just a cold, but it knocked her out! We taught a couple lessons late in the after noon. We have an investigator on date to be baptized on the 25th! but I we will have to wait and see :)

Saturday: This was the day that my Mission President called me and told me about my grandma jones not doing well. I knew When I came out on a mission that I wouldn't see her again tell the next life. I love her dearly and I am going to miss her! But I also know that if I dont work my guts out then my grandma will kick my butt! haha :D I will love her forever!

Sunday: We took the Sacrament :D we had dinner with the Day family, and tried to teach some Less actives and meet new people, but no luck :( We are just so happy the our home shares are back home!!!

This weeks thought: It is hard to ponder. Have any of you ever just sat and thought about a scripture? It is tough! My mind wonders.....so I challenge you to ponder! after prayer, scripture study. Through pondering we can receive revelation! Cool!

Love you all!

Happy Faster!

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter! This week has been so busy that I hope I can share with you all the amazing experiences that I have had this week! Thank you to all those that email me and send me packages or letters! It is so much fun getting mail during the week

Monday: It was very relaxing :D so what I needed to start off this busy week! I got a package from my sister Andrea with pictures of Christ and I love them all! I can't wait to start handing them out :D I also got a package from my Preschool class at Weber State...man a live I miss those kids! I miss all of you too, but I know that I will see you when I get home. There is a good chance that I wont see those kids again :( But hey I will see them in the next life!!

Tuesday: We did visits with a couple in our ward. They are so funny! They remind me of my brother and sister-in-law Blake and Alison. Haha :D they are adorable! the day was filled with Less Active visits. We met with a man that has been coming to church (that isn't a member). We showed up to his house without an appointment. We asked if we could come back and teach him more about our savior. he said, "I don't have time." We kept trying to set up some kind of appointment, but he was very strong in saying that he didnt have time to meet with us :( but he did try and feed us and give us a movie he was in haha :D

Wednesday: We taught a new Investigator. She is very sweet, but hard to understand :/ the spirit was there and she told us that she would come to church (but she didnt :( We will meet with her again on Wednesday. That afternoon we had an Easter Egg hunt! While the Primary Presidency went and hid the eggs they told Sister Mathews and I to keep the kids busy with songs, games, and what ever else we could think of! It didn't go well...I only had half the kids singing with me and the other half were running around haha so much fun!!!!

Thursday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC JONES (my nephew for those that don't know he turned 11!) Thursday was slower, but fully of appointments and meetings. We shared the Easter Video which is amazing! I love the video! The spirit is brought in as soon as you press play! You have to listen with your hear to be able to feel the spirit!

Friday: We had a meeting with our zone which went great! A little while after we went to a members home and shared the video with them and taught them how to share the video with a friend. the kids thought it was pretty fun when we Roll Played haha :) after we ran got gas, ate for 15 minutes then off the next appointment! so busy!!! This lesson with Investigators was amazing! They were going to come to church, but the wife's mother wanted them to go to her church for Easter. We are hoping for next week! They are the nicest family ever!!!

Saturday: CONFERENCE!!!! Loved every minute of it! during the 2 hour break we taught a lesson to a potential investigator who said she would bring her family to church!! So awesome! Later our day was filled with less actives and we tried so hard to get 3 investigators to church tomorrow!

Sunday: BAM WE GOT 3 INVESTIGATORS TO CONFERENCE!!!! oh and we watch conference at the stake center fyi! But they came!!!! WHAT!!! and it was the family we taught the day before! It was a mom and a sister (19) and a son (10) They stayed for the first session and we asked the son what he thought he said and i QUOTE!!! "It only felt like a half hour." What 10 year old says that about conference! He is awesome!!!

Back to Monday :) our home share went to Utah to watch conference and spend time with family. So no Mormon-opoly today :( oh well :D

Okay so now to explain Happy Faster :) In our home share there is a sign that says Happy Easter. If you look at it from a different angle I thought it said "Happy Faster" I laughed and then realized something....Through our Savior we can become Happy Faster. Through his loving Sacrifice for us we can become Happy through all challenges in life. So I hope you all take this to heart, lean on our Savior Every Day (not just Easter), and Become Happy Faster :D

Love you all so very much! I pray for you always!

The Week of Giving

This week I have felt the love for my Savior grow! I know he loves me and is proud of what I am doing in California. Some days come and go and I feel that I had accomplished nothing. Other days I feel that I have concurred the world. It is important to give our all each and every day no matter what comes our way!
Monday: I told you all a lot what happened this day all ready. The only other thing I left out was that we played Mormon-opoly haha :) So fun! They have scriptures that you can look up as you play haha :)
Tuesday: Like I said some days are slower than others. Sometimes lessons fall through, or we dont have a lesson planned for that day. We had a meeting with the missionaries in our District. During our meeting the guy in charge of the vehicles, Elder Puskis, came in and handed out car stuff to all the drivers. Then he turned to me handed me a set of screw drivers and said, "This is for our Sister Fix it" haha I almost died laughing! haha :)
Wednesday: We were on exchanges......we walked and talked to a lot of people because our lessons fell through (meaning they didn't answer the door :(  oh well the work must go on! I learned From Sister Sterner that you can give partial  to your mission, or you can give your all! It is time now to give my whole life to our loving Heavenly Father!
Thursday: We taught a young mother in the morning. We found out that she had been taught by missionaries before! She went to get her Book of Mormon and in it she had the Elders names written at the top...one Elders name was Elder Moore!!! WHAT!! haha how cool is that! I am ment to be serving in this ward for sure! After that lesson we planned for our week, helped a member pack because they are moving in a few months. Then we taught Hailey :) Man alive I love her and her Testimony is growing so fast! We asked her to invite her mom to church on sunday. We even practiced with her :) Sister Mathews' was Hailey and Hailey was her mom. She thought it was so fun and a great way for Hailey to see things from her mom's point of view! After that we had dinner, then a lesson with an investigator. She has a lot going on in her life, but she knows that she wants to get baptized! We hope she will be baptized in April before Sister Mathews goes home! We then went and talked to a referral that our Ward Mission Leader gave to us. We knocked on the door and he was so awesome!!! He told us to come back tomorrow a little earlier to teach his family!
Friday: We went back to the guy's house^^that guy his name is Mike haha :) and no one answered the door....:( We were so bummed out! Oh well we went on with the work! Later in the evening we were driving to our Ward Mission Leader's home. As we were driving by Sister Mathews made eye contact with a man in a car. She said, "I think that's Mike!" We parked the car and saw that he TURNED HIS CAR AROUND!!! That never happens!!!! he said, "I am going out to get something to eat, but go talk to my wife she is home." WHAT!!!! BAM!!!! haha so we went and told the Ward Mission Leader and he told us to get over there. Come to find out that the family had been taught before! We got to know them and they are the nicest people! After that I saw that we got a text from a member in our ward. She told us that her son's non-member friend was there and to get our butts over there! So we ran over there and talked to him. Pretty cool kid he is 19 and is hilarious! We are having dinner with the member's on Wednesday, we invited him, and he said that he would try and come! Hope he does I will let ya'll know :) then the evening ended with teaching recent converts.
Saturday: Today was the first day that we didn't have a single lesson! but we had Woman's Conference! Man....it was awesome! I was crying my eyes out! Something I learned in the MTC is that when you are listening to a talk don't write down what the people are saying, write down what the Spirit Reveals to you. Most powerful conference ever! I now see how I can give my whole heart to the Savior and still be me! I love the Lord more than ever and I want to show him that by Serving him! Then we ate cake :)
Sunday: We met a new potential Investigator. He asked us a great question. He asked, "Does your church believe in Dinosaurs?" It was hilarious....I mean he does have a point, but I just never thought about it before haha :) any thoughts on the subject??
Monday: And here we are to Monday :) WOW the week goes by so fast!

If nothing else know that Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of you! It is our job here on earth to become closer to him! Heavenly Father is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever! Love you all! And I love hearing from you all!!!
