Hot, Humid, and Humbling

Wow what a week! I can't believe that June is pretty much over! wow!! Really It feels that it just started! It is not only Hot here, it is Humid! It is not as humid as Chicago....(sorry Blake and Alison) but by the end of the day I have a great sweat circle on my back :( that was probably TMI but oh well! My dad told me he wants to know what is going on haha :)

Tuesday: We had dinner with the Thompson Family. Sister Thompson cut my hair....yes I miss my long hair.....but it is so much cooler and makes biking easier! It will grow back in a year any way! We also got a bunch of new clothes! We had to carry big black garbage bags on our bikes! I am now PRO at riding bikes with no hands :) I can go up and down hills and even turn corners! Tuesday we had a meeting with missionaries! We learned about the importance of getting people to Church. It was so awesome! Church is so Important! In life we really just have to make it from Sunday to Sunday.

Wednesday: We went to go visit our older members....but no one was home....We visited with a less active, then ate dinner, then had a meeting with our bishop. I love meeting with him! He really cares about everyone in the ward!

Thursday: We had interviews with President Mullen! I love meeting with him! I learn so much and I know he prayers for me and my companion! It was just awesome. Then we went home visited with the older people that we missed yesterday. Oh our way we had a great idea! We called Elder Puskas (the guy in charge of cars for our mission) and asked him if we could have a car; however we would only need 200 miles a month! It gets so hot and there are so many hills! It is an all day trip to get to the top of our area! Seriously if you haven't Google Mapped it look up 1290 W. Ontario, Corona ( that is our Church and if you go straight south on oak you will eventually hit the end of our area!)

Friday: Saddest day/best day.....I lost my name tag.....the one I got from the MTC....I cried...those that have served missions understand.....I can order more and I have a spare....but huh...it was sad....Positive note!!!! We went on splits with members in our ward! I went and saw Sister Romero and we shared the Easter Video with her. She loved it and at the end our our visit She gave me a doll! She collects them and loves them to pieces! The dolls name is Amy. So sweet! That made my day!

Saturday: We moved people for six hours!!! I was so tired!!! We went to dinner taught our investigator Troy. We went over the ten commandments.

Sunday: BEST DAY EVER!!!! After Church we went on a Church tour with Troy and his aunt. We showed him the font and then went into the Chapel. We started talking about families and we had him read parts of The Family: A Proclamation to the World. We then talked about temples. Sister Springer shared a picture of her favorite temple and we talked about the importance of the temple. He just looked at the paper for a long time. He looked up and told us that he wanted to pray alone. We walked out, he prayed, and came out. Your could see in his face how much he knows and loves the Church! He also talked to us about serving a mission! I am so excited for him!!!

Monday: Today I had an amazing opportunity. We were sitting outside of Walmart and two deaf people walked by. I was too scared to talk to them....but when they came out Sister Springer encouraged me to go talk to them! So I

DID!!!! I was so nervous!! They weren't interested, but I did it :D It was awesome!!!!

I know that the Lord gives us trials to make us stronger! He never gives trials that we can't handle! I love being a missionary! Thank you so much for your love and support! I know that this is the best place for me to be right now! I love hearing from you as well! If I don't get back to you this week I am sorry! I am really trying! :) <3

A fly away week!

Hope everyone had a great week!!! Shout out to KYLE JONES!!! He is going to be 16 on Wednesday!! WHAT!!!!

Tuesday: We had our regular meeting with our District. This time it was about how members can tell that we work hard and are dedicated to the work. We made a list of things like: Service, going to church, helping people...etc......then our District leader Elder Camper turned around and said, "These are all wrong!" and crossed them out. He continued to say that it is by the time and the effort we put into studying and learning the will of our Heavenly Father! Members can tell when we are being obedient missionaries by the spirit that we bring into their homes! Now say that we brake a rule or what not the spirit doesnt just disappear...only a portion of the spirit leaves, so it is not as strong. We can apply this into all of our lives! When we go and hang out with non-members we are bringing the spirit into their home! When we are reading the scriptures, praying, listening to good music, and so on the spirit is brought with us. And that is how people come unto Christ and Join the Church! Oh and on this day we lost our Keys.... :( we figured it out though....haha

Wednesday: We went and visited all of the older members in our ward! I love this day! They love us coming to see them and they always give us water. One always has Tootsi Rolls (yeah I dont know how to spell get over it) and I think of my Grandma Moore every time we go over there! I love it! We also visited the Smith/Higgins Family. On our way out of a powerful lesson Sister Springer's Bike fell in their pool! BAHHHH It was so funny!!!! Pictures were taken and Bro. Smith is pulling the bike out! It was so funny!!!! awe man I still almost cry remembering that....haha....

Thursday: We did Service for the Smith/Higgins family for 5 hours!! We then went home and planned and that is when I started to feel sick....yeah....again....We went to dinner with the Hoopii Family. They made us seafood pasta and it was amazing!!!! then we went to another member's home and I felt even worse....the family could tell that I wasnt feeling well so they offered to drive us home. I love them so much! They took care of our bikes for us and everything!! I went to bed at like 8 pm and didnt wake up tell 3 pm on Friday......

Friday: IT was crazy how much I slept! Sister Springer was going crazy!!! she finally called the Spanish Sisters that Serve in our area. One stayed with me while they went out and worked. It was good for Sister Springer to get out! That night I stayed with Sister Young (a member in our ward) while Sister Springer stayed with the Spanish Sisters!

Saturday: BAM BEST DAY EVER!!!!! Troy our investigator is on date to be baptized on July 11th!!! He is so excited!!! On top of that July 11th is is grandparents 61st wedding anniversary! WHAT the grandma so so excited!!!

Sunday: Awesome moment! After Church we had two members come up to us and tell us about Priesthood. Troy went up and introduced himself. He said that he felt good when he came here. That he was so excited to get baptized on July 11th! AND!!! that he loves the ward!!! WHAT!! He even has told us before that he wants to serve a mission! I am so excited for him! He is 19 years old and he is just bomb!!! For dinner we ate with the bishop and he was so nice enough to send a picture to our fathers for fathers day! We played pictionary and had a blast and a half!

Monday: .....we woke up at 5:30......and we now have everything done for today.....I am getting my hair cut this morning as well....I almost said afternoon haha! I am so tired!!! I hope that I can get a nap in today!!!

I love you all and I hope to hear back from you! I love to see a list of emails that I get to open on Monday! It is almost like christmas!!!

I love the Lord and all that he has done for me!

Love,
Your Favorite!!!

Corona Zone Conference

You'll notice in the zone photos everyone is holding a copy of the Book of Mormon.  All of us are reading and marking the Book of Mormon together during the next four months.  (We've decided to go slowly as the elders and sisters also have studying to do each day to prepare for investigator appointments.) We would like to invite family members to join with us!  You will need a fresh copy of the Book of Mormon and colored pencils.  Here is what we are marking:

Each reference to Jesus Christ (any of His names or pronouns referring to Him).
His words (spoken by Him or by prophets when they say, "Thus saith the Lord").
His attributes.
The doctrines and principles contained in the Book of Mormon.

At the bottom of the page count the total number of items referenced.  Everyone will mark their copy according to their own thoughts, but this experience should help us see how often the Savior is referenced and help us focus on the principles taught in this remarkable book of scripture.  We hope you will enjoy sharing your insights with your elder or sister over the next four months.

Weeks Fly, Days Drag On, Life As A Missionary Is Short!!!

This week we have learned and taught so much! The work is moving forward, and we are ready to teach them! Thank you for your prayers!

Tuesday: Was amazing! Elder Nielson came to our mission. During conference he talked about his sister that came back to the church! We were with him from 8 AM to 4:00 PM It was so awesome! I learned so much! In a nut shell I know that I can be doing better and trying harder! And this week has defiantly shown that hard work and determination goes a long way! After that we had dinner at Chucky Cheese! The Family from our ward that fed us had a birthday and that is where their daughter wanted to go! So fun!

Wednesday: We had a member come out with us all day! Eliza. She is so amazing! I love having her with us! We taught some people in an old folks home and it was awesome! We also went to the Smith/Higgins/Fernandez home. They are awesome and Love us coming over! We are teaching 2 nonmembers in their home. They love Church and love hearing about the gospel!

Thursday: We taught the Plan of Salvation to Arisha and she loved it! We used my companions Plan of Salvation shirt and it made sense to her. She was so excited to hear about where her grandmother is on the other side!

Friday: We went on exchanges. I went to Eastvaille for the day. For exercise we got to feed the dogs, chickens, and.....HORSES!!! awe! I miss them. It smelled like home too :D We went and taught a few less actives and found some potential investigators.

Saturday: Was just crazy...one of our investigators had a really hard day. Kinda got us in a funk....However we made the best of it and visited a few people in the ward. I love the work here it is time to help people change their lives for the better!!

Sunday: We had one investigator come to church and he loved it! He was so excited to be there and everyone loved him! He even talked about going on a mission!! WHAT!!!!!

This week really has been a blessing! Besides Sister Springer throwing powdered sugar in my face ( no worries I got her back ;) haha she is so fun! She loves to laugh and get the work done! I have learned so much from here! We have been together for 8 weeks now and we have about 4 weeks left tell we find out if we stay together or what happens!

Corona is very hot and the hills are crazy!! We ride bike all day and I am seriously looking into buying one of those water bottles that go on your back.....hmmm...

I have been studying the Old Testament and man is it hard! I just finished Joseph and the coat  many colors. It is crazy to think that he leaned on the Lord during all of his trials! I mean really think about it! We really only have to make it from Sunday to Sunday each week! Just take like a week at a time.

I love you all! I am really trying to add more to my emails. Let me know what else ya'll think I should add.

LOVE YOU!!!!!

Tuesday: We went out with a member named Eliza. She is 15 and is so fun! I love her! We were riding bikes and she loved it! We also went and picked up another member and went and did visits until Keri's bike tire popped and rapped around her gears...... that was crazy haha

Wednesday: We taught the Smith family and learned a lot about them. They are working so hard to get back to church!

Thursday: We had planning...we all know how much I love planning....We helped the Jacob's family clean for a little while then we went to visit the older people in our ward. We had Dinner with the Saunders family. They are so awesome! They have a daughter out on a mission.

Friday: We had a meeting with the zone and I know that we are going to be doing better this month! We will have someone ready to be baptized! We went up and helped the Saunders family knock down a bird's nest (don't worry the baby birds are still alive) and I cleaned out a cupboard! We also helped the Jacob's family as well!

Saturday: We had a meeting with President Mullen. He talked with us about how we can help our area become more fruitful. I can't wait to use some of his ideas! I also got a package from the Jones family :D GREAT BIG HUGS!!! Loved getting them! made my day!

Sunday: We talked about the Holy Ghost. First we talked about it being a comforter. I started to cry because I know that the Holy Ghost and comforted me in times of trial. The first thing that came to my mind was when Grandma passed away. It was on the day of transfers and I was leaving for Corona. It was so hard, but Heavenly Father knew that I could over come this obstacle! I could not have done it without the Holy Ghost. He has helped me and is continually helping me become stronger!

Monday: Today we went shopping with sister young...it took three hours......I am a survivor!

Love you all!!!!

Im Still in Corona with Sister Springer!

This week has been a little bit of everything! Trials come to make us stronger!

Tuesday: We went and mad an appointment with Kim.....but she canceled the day of....oh well! We had dinner with the Reich Family! They are moving this week! I will miss them, they were so nice! then we had to catch up on our Book of Mormon reading. We were challenged by our mission president to read a fresh Book of Mormon and mark it according to page 114 in Preach my Gospel. We are suppose to challenge our family to do it as well! We will be finishing it by September!

Wednesday: We picked up a new investigator! Her name is Arisha. She is so fun and excited to learn! Her boyfriend is a member and he is trying to come back to church, So she wants to learn. So amazing! She is full of questions and believes a lot of what we believe!

Thursday: Planning...planning....planning....We went out with a member Eliza. she is 15 and so adorable! We were walking to Sister Young's house to give her recycling, and a lady saw us and gave us her recycling! We told her what church we were from, didn't seem too interested, but hey! I was so excited!

Friday: I couldn't write down much of this day.......oh well

Saturday: Transfer Calls! I am staying in Corona with Sister Springer. I pray that this transfer will be amazing! I know that we can find a baptism! There is so much I can learn from sister springer!
We moved a lot of people today! It was crazy!!

Sunday: we had 2 investigators to Church! Arisha and Meloney. We had a lot of visits with Less actives as well! a man shared his testimony with us, but then refused to go to church at 1 o'clock...weird....haha he is funny!

The strongest part of my week. There is a family in our ward that is really amazing! They are a family of 5 children. We went over to their house and we started to pray. The father has been out of a job for serverl months. He has applied for over 20 jobs and no one has called him back. Their daughter had a birthday this past week. The family had no money to buy a present. The parents went out, picked up rocks. and gave her a rock collection for her birthday. She loved it! When we got there she was so excited to show us each rock that her father had picked up just for her!
I look up to this family. They literally had close to nothing! I pray that all of us can look up to them, and be grateful for what we have!

I love you all!! hope you all have a great week!
