March Madness!! haha Just kidding ;)

Okay so this week was kinda interesting. Time on the mission goes way to fast! I have already been out here 3 months you guys!!!!! Time needs to stop!!!

Monday: I got a package from the Awesome Jones family! It was so fun! St. Patrick's day was a treat after all! We had dinner with Sister Lindsey and she took us out to Sushi! It was so good! awe....

Tuesday: Oh by the way I have been running four days out of the week....2miles.....run 3 min walk 3 min and it is killing me! It gives me more energy and I think I have lost some weight. The saddest part is that sugar doesnt sound good any more :( any who...We had our interview with President Mullen. He is so awesome! I was scared, but I knew that he would be chill :) After that we went to go see a less active in the ward that has been struggling. He is such a cool guy, but he feels unworthy to go to church :( Church is a Hospital for Sinners!!! We went to his house to find out his car broke down. We had an appointment, so we couldnt help. However, we called people in the ward and had them come help! It was awesome! He felt so loved. Later we went to another members house and they werent home :( I got the prompting to turn around and see who was there. We met a cool guy named Lio. He didnt have a church to go to so we are going to follow up with him this week :) That night we had dinner with Sister Stotlar. She is an amazing cook! AWE I love our ward!

Wednesday: oh Wednesday......Chevy hates me okay....our trunk broke...it wouldnt latch.....Good thing I got another package from home! It was wonderful! Heidi Benson thank you for sending me the bag with all the goodies in it :) the string handles were what held our trunk closed :) All is well! We taught a new investigator today and she seems really excited to learn, but her sister is still questioning...pray for them! We also had our Book of Mormon Class. Our 3 students (member of our ward) Love coming :) they are so fun!

Thursday: TEMPLE DAY!!!!! :D I so needed it :) it was amazing! I could have been there forever! awe :) it refreshed me in a way that I can't explain! I was so tired after, but I felt the spirit so strong! and it gave me more energy to continue the week :)

Friday: We taught an investigator Regina. We werent sure if she would even be home. She has canceled on our last few appointments....but she was there! We talked about her family and told her, "Your friends keep sending us here because they know you are missing something in your life. Would you like to know what that is?" It worked haha :) she even came to church Sunday! BAM!!!

Saturday: Our ward had a Scout fundraiser. We got a ride because it was our dinner for the evening....but we stayed a little too long.....oops but hey we were able to help the scouts out haha :)

Sunday: Our investigator came to church, but left after Sacrament :( But she came! This sunday was our Easter Sunday and it was filled with the spirit!

Monday: Today was awesome! So we went to the Chevy Dealership because Butch (our car) hates me! We were able to talk to a woman that was baptist. She gave us her card and we gave her a Plan of Salvation Pamphlet.  As we were talking with her a man kept walking back and forth in front of us. You could just tell he wanted to talk to us hehe :) after the woman left He came and sat in front of us. He asked if we were preachers. We explained that we were missionaries. He then had to leave because his ride was ready to take him home. He then asked what religion we were. We told him and he replied, "Uh-oh" haha We just laughed. So many people do not understand what we believe haha :)

Hope all is well at home! Kinda a slow, but busy week! More investigators are coming our way! Thank you for your prayers! I love and miss you all!

Faith, Prayer, Fasting, and Bread :)

Monday: after we wrote home last monday we went shopping, washed the car, got gas, and made bread and oreo cookies :) It had been forever sense I have baked so I just had to! Our home share looked up Heidi's Bread recipe and the oreo recipe from our blog. So nice of her! I love sister Peel :) After we made bread we played Mormon-opoly (Mom Dad.....find it....It would be a great birthday/christmas gift) So fun! Then we went and had dinner with the Rex family (Bishop and his wife) She loves us and feeds us too much!

Tuesday: we took the bread to Hailey's mom.....a little recap....Hailey's mom had not given Hailey written permission to get baptized. Sister Mathews, Hailey, and I have been praing and fasting and praying and fasting. After that we walked around and talked to people. We went to this one house that a member referred us to. We knocked on the door and asked if he would like to hear a message about our Savior. He said I am christain I don't believe the mormon's are true. You worship Joseph Smith. Read Galations! He is a lost soul......In Galations it talks about how there is no other gospel. Which is true! We have the full gospel here on the earth! DUH!!!! Later after Dinner with the Hiner family we went and visited with Camille she is a Recent Convert that moved into our area. She is so sweet! She has a beautiful Baby boy! with the biggest Cheeks ever!!!

Wednesday: We went and had a meeting with every missionary in our stake. They fed us lunch and they had a few speakers. One speaker really hit home. I am here on a mission. It is time to forget about home! Ya'll will be there when I get back! Things may change, But I am here to serve the Lord! That night we taught our first Book of Mormon Class. It was so much fun! only three people showed up but it was still fun! That night Hailey brought us her permission paper signed by her mom!!!!! IT was amazing!!!!! The Lord really will answer prayers when it is the right time and place :)

Thursday: We walked....for over two hours.....we meet a lot of people and had a few appointments set up. I pray that more people will come out of the wood work.

Friday: We had a training on the Easter video...the Easter Video is so amazing! IT will be online on the 28th of this month! also......little  hint.....go look on youtube on April 5th.. :) IT will be amazing!!!!! After that we went and filled the font. it takes 3 hours to fill a font....just to let ya know haha so worth it! I had to play the piano for the baptism....never doing that again I got so nervous! Everyone said I did great but....I still wont do it again...Hailey is baptized!!!! :) It was so awesome! Her boyfriend baptized her it was so amazing! She is just awesome! Her mom came and we hope to start teaching the mother the lessons soon :)

Saturday: BLITS!!! Our Zone leaders said that we were going to do something amazing......we had all the missionaries in our zone (7 sets) come to San Jacinto and walk around talking to everyone! We assigned people areas and we got......(wait for it!!!)......14 Referals!!! 14 people that we can go back and talk to about the gospel!! It was AMAZING!!! Can't wait to help the other area's out!

Sunday: Hailey got confermed :) It was so amazing :) I didn't cry! I waited tell I got home haha :) We also had a killer fireside! President Mullen came down and talked to our stake about how they can help us find people to teach!! It was so powerful! :) I love President and Sister Mullen :) they are the best! The spirit was so strong! As a mission we repeat often the standard of truth by Joseph Smith and then sing We are as the Army of Helamen. ( Do it with your families!!!) It brings the spirit! at the end the songs sings "and we will be the Lord's missionaries to bring the world his truth!" AWESOME!!! You will cry :)

Monday: Today why this email is so late is because we went on a hike....it was long and hot and we didnt finish haha :) A sister wasnt feeling well so we chose to stay behind with her. It was so beautiful! We found Snow!!! and we made a snowman :)

So far so good this week :) No Sickness!!! and I pray for you all! the power of fasting and prayer and bread (so serves) really makes a difference in our lives if we allow it!

I love the Lord!

Lessons Learned While Being Sick

Wow what a fast/slow/crazy/uneventful week! (you will see what I mean) I know that my Father in Heaven Loves me!

Okay so Monday recap: Sister Mullen called and told me to rest....so I did.....until Thursday...I couldn't take it any more!!! Any who I slept most of Monday...not very fun...

Tuesday: This day was full of...stuff....haha so I did not feel well. Our home share had her family moving in. They have a cute baby boy that is about 18 months old. SO CUTE (he loves girls :) I knew that I wouldnt get much rest at the house because they were moving boxes oh and they brought 3 dogs. We do have our room, but it wasn't very sound proof... So we went to the church. The church is freezing! I tried to rest, but it just wasnt happening. We knew that Sister Peel (member of the ward) had an extra couch we could sleep on. (We were hoping that she would be our new home share) We called her and she said to come on over and it just so happened that the Missionary Housing people were coming over to look at the house and see if we could move in! So we were there when they were and...we moved in two hours later...haha it was crazy! I wasn't aloud to go back and pack my stuff because they didn't want the baby to get sick! So They threw all of our stuff in suitcases and bags and boxes....It is good to be living with the Peel Family. I love them so much!
I also got a priesthood blessing by some of the Elders in our Zone. I really needed a blessing not only for being sick, but also for comfort. I needed to know that the Lord was pleased with what I was doing. I wanted so desperately to know that me being sick and sleeping was okay! Because being sick is the HARDEST THING on a mission. However I learned many things, But most importantly I learned how to love being a missionary. For the first transfer I thought about home a lot! I would think about each and everyone of you every day! It seemed hard for me to focus sometimes. When I was sick all I could think about was the people in our area! The people we were teaching and how I wanted to go teach them! I needed that more than ever!

Wednesday: I slept and unpacked...oh and an investigator dropped us... :( saddest day ever! William was awesome, but the Lord has a plan for him!

Thursday met with Hailey's MOM!!!!!! It was awesome! We are still hoping that she get's baptized this Friday! The Lord will find a way if it was what she is meant to do! I love her so much!

Friday: We had a Zone Meeting and we talked about how important it is to drop people! At first I was like wait what!! We need to be focusing on the people that the Lord has prepared for Baptism. There are so many people that arent ready to hear the gospel! So we have to focus on the people who are ready to hear it. We also picked up a new investigator! She told us that she had been praying to god for guidance, and then we showed up! BAM!! she knew that God sent us! Her name is Latisha. She lost a son in Iraq fighting for our country. She is so sweet!

Saturday: We met with Hailey and all is ready to go for her baptism. We just need to have her mom giver her permission. After Hailey we went and got ice cream because we needed the sugar rush...we taught our few appointments and we even did our back up plan! But then what...we drove around..prayed...drove.....prayed.....then we met Beverly! She is the funniest Lady every! She has to be in her 70's she has cancer, but loves Heavenly Father and prays to him. She doesn't go to church, but she is willing to talk with us :)

Sunday: Church was great we got to teach the Gospel Principles class. So much fun! we taught on Serves (kinda perfect for a missionary right). After that we tried to meet with Less actives that werent in church. we at dinner with the Chonka Family. Man...she can cook! I ate so much! But it was worth it!

Well We are done with one transfer! I can't believe it! I almost started to cry...I only have 12 transfers left...I dont want to leave San Jacinto....the Lord knows best though!

Love you all!

It's March!

I hope that all is well back home! It is raining like crazy here! Sorry I haven't been taking very many pictures....I hope to get better on that haha :)

Monday:
I wrote 15 letters home last week! So I am trying to get to everyone! It took two hours! So please be patient haha. Besides that we taught Family Home Evening to the Bond family. They are members, and their father is 2nd Counselor to the Bishop. Their grandmothers name is Leeann Moore Jones....and she is from Ogden Utah...I thought it was weird haha any who! We then went and visited some Less Active members who were happy to see us!

Tuesday:
Sister Mathews stayed home with Sister Elliot (our home share) while Sister Coeman ( a member of our ward) and I went out to teach! We taught a Less Active named Jerry. He is very sweet! He is trying to come back to church and we taught him on friday! It went great! We Also taught Hailey we had to change her baptism date....but do not fear!! It is on Friday the 13th haha :) We had dinner with the Storm Family. We gave them a Book of Mormon to hand out to a friend and their 7 year old little boy started to name all of his friends because he wanted to give the Book of Mormon out! It was awesome! Then we went to see the Herrera Family. On our way in we met a tall man named Richard who is the Herrera's neighbor. We taught the Herrera family about how important it is to know their neighbors, they ended up talking to Richard and inviting him to church! AWESOME!! We also had a meeting that day. Our District Leader Elder Haslum taught that we should be asking for trials because trials are what make us stronger!

Wednesday:
We had dinner with the Gass Family. They love us so much! We ended up staying double the time we were suppose to.....yeah we repented...they are just so easy to talk to! After dinner we went to teach the Bogel Family they might be a Part Member Family....but I'm not sure....we are going to ask! The wife that is not a member seemed to be accept the restoration!

Thursday:
We read taught William! I love this cute man! he is 84 and at the first lesson I was worried that he didnt read..or pray...BUT he did! He even had questions! He is looking forward to being baptized! It will take some time to teach him everything. However, he feels the spirit when we teach and when he CAME TO CHURCH!!!! He is just awesome! Thursday night we had Companion exchanges....I was so nervious.....I went out with Sister Pfile(just say file)...I hardly slept  that night! I kept thinking about our investigators and who we were going to teach!

Friday:
Was awesome! We taught six lessons in 7 hours! Most of them were Less Actives, but we also taught Hailey again. She is ready to be baptized! Everything went well with Sister Pfile. I learned that I need to remember to ask everyone we talk to if they know anyone that would be interested in hearing a message about our savior! Sister Fisher (a less active) was one of the people we taught. She was so sweet! I love her! She gave me a little dish that looked like angel wings and said, "this way you will always be in the hands of an angel" She is just super awesome!

Sautrday:
I got sick....it's just a cough and I hope it stays that way....haha so I rested a lot on this day....I didn't like it....Sister Mullen just called...(our mission president's wife) She told me to rest....and stay in...this might kill me.....but I will do as she tells me too :)

Sunday:
We had 3 Investigators come to church! One of them was a former investigator. But we still had 3! I went to dinner with the Rex family while Sister Mathews went to a baptism in Anza. Sister Rex (Bishop's wife) was my companion. I had every intention of going out and working with Sister Minish (a member in the ward) but Sister Mathews "forgot" to leave the keys for me...I guess it was better that way so that I could stay home and rest.....:(

I hope all is well! I love you all! I love emails and hand written letters! I know this church is the true church! I am helping others come unto Christ by Faith in him and his Atonement! And also Helping people get baptized by the proper authority of God!
Miss you all! Keep me in your prayers so that I can get over this dumb cold! You all are in my prayers!!!
